Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
Colleen Barrows, LPCC, PMH-C
In-Office and Telehealth Appointments
Colleen is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with over 15 years of experience working with individuals and families across a range of settings, including college counseling centers, domestic violence shelters, cancer care support, and providing psychological evaluations for refugees seeking asylum. Her clinical path has ultimately led her to specialize in perinatal mental health, a focus deeply informed by her own experience of postpartum depression following the birth of her daughter.
Colleen understands firsthand the overwhelm, shame, and isolation that can accompany this season of life. She is passionate about supporting parents as they navigate the complex emotional terrain of pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. In her private practice, Colleen works collaboratively and creatively with parents of young children, helping them explore and heal their own early attachment wounds and developmental trauma so they can show up with greater presence, wholeness, and compassion in their parenting.
Grounded in relational, attachment-based, and trauma-informed care, Colleen also integrates somatic approaches into her work. She is a certified Perinatal Mental Health practitioner and a former Registered Yoga Teacher, with training in meditation, Ayurveda, and expressive modalities. She believes deeply in the mind-body connection and the wisdom held within the body, allowing these perspectives to inform both her psychotherapy practice and approach to self-care.
Colleen lives in Columbus with her husband and two young children, who are her greatest teachers. She finds nourishment in art, baking, knitting, time outdoors, and (unapologetically) chocolate. Whatever brings you here, Colleen would be honored to walk alongside you as you deepen understanding of yourself, your relationships, and your story—toward a more embodied, grounded, and wholehearted life.
